More than thousand years, the traditional understanding of Islam, based on its ancient and huge religious heritage, has interpreted the appearance, identity and rights of women in Islamic communities around the concepts of inherent inequality between men and women with the emphasis on the natural role of women and their pessimism about women’s presence in the social and political arenas. Rapid changes in the life conditions of the Islamic communities have created new needs and demands that this cognitive and methodological framework and the mechanisms used in this reading of Islam do not address these needs and could not open up a section of the growing problems and needs of women corresponding their rights with the new human rights standards. Following this failure and the identity crisis that Islamic societies have encountered as a result of confrontation with western modernity, a group of Muslims who believe in Islamic principles and influenced by the positive aspects of western modernization, began to re-interpret the principles and rules of the Shari'a, offering a new reading of Islam in the form of reforming and resuscitation of religious thought. This article seeks to recognize how the appearance, identity and legal stand of women is reflected in the rational- epistemological foundations of Islamic intellectualism, and what the epistemological frameworks of this attitude are on the women’s political and social rights and what differences it has with its traditional rival. Our assumption is that Islamic intellectualism approach taking advantage of the new epistemological achievements has a humanistic view on woman trying to depict the appearance and identity of woman according to the morality, justice, conventionality, interpretation of religious texts and its shift according to the time requirements. This issue has potentially the required ability to produce fundamental changes in the women’s rights and in accordance with the new standards of human rights. Our emphasis in this article is based on the views of two most influential contemporary Iranian Muslim intellectuals, Mohammad Mujtahid Shabestari and Mohsen Kadivar. This study is a documentary research and data collection is done in a way of scanning documents, books, essays and websites. To analyze the data, the researchers have used a combination of literal and grounded hermeneutic method.

The annual conferences of the Iranian Political Science Association started in 2007 and now after ten years is yet one of the regular programs of this association. The last of these types of conferences was held in March 2017 with the title of "The status of political science; now and the future". The main question of this article is how much this conference complies with the standards of an annual conference of a scientific association, and how relevant the content reflects the one-year achievements of the Iranian political science. The research methodology is descriptive-analytic. The results show that the conference reflects somewhat the one-year achievements of the political science in Iran, indicating some signs of the improvement and progress of this knowledge and is consistent with the standards of scientific conferences. In addition, participants in the conference, on behalf of the majority of the Iranian political science community, analyzed Iran's specialized political issues in the context of the conventional knowledge of political science, and on the contrary, a small minority would consider the fundamental and material development of this discipline. Meanwhile the "opening and closing speeches", "selected articles in the form of scientific speeches" and "abstracts of conferences," show the Iranian political science is in the crisis condition and the inefficiency of this science is because of the independence of the present Iranian authorities from interpretations, rules and their findings representing the main problem of this branch of science. Improvement of the status of political science in Iran lays only on the acceptance of political science as the authority in the field of general policy making and good governance rules on behalf of dominant political system.

Abstract To study politics and morality relationship and create interaction between the political and morality foundations are the most important and scientific issues in the field of political philosophy and thought. Reza Davari Ardakani and Alasdair Macintyre are two contemporary political and ethical philosophers. They have two different tradition of thought (Islam and the west) trying to study the coherence of politics and ethics. This research paper ignoring the differences of these two schools of thoughts, and considering the general and common views of these two intellectuals in social and political affairs tries to answer the following question: What is the relationship between ethics and politics in political thoughts and opinions of Reza Davari Ardakani and Alasdair Macintyre? The hypothesis proposed is that Davari Ardakani and Macintyre, according to their epistemology and anthropology systems believe in the unity and relationship of ethics and politics. According to the results and findings of this research, both philosophers have tried to take advantage from explanatory, cognitive and normative implications to approve the positive hypothesis. The nuclear issue as one of the important issues of foreign policy of Iran has been studied by researchers of this field based on various theoretical approaches. Analogical reasoning is one of the cognitive approaches in the analysis of foreign policy that has been neglected in Iran's foreign policy analysis. This research using analogical reasoning study aims to identify the historical analogies employed on the Iranian nuclear issue during the years 2003-2016 and tries to show that how some senior government officials and analysts outside Iran have shaped some analogical battle in dealing with the Iran's nuclear issue in terms of comparing this event with some other historical events. Research findings suggest that "The Munich Analogy", "The Yalta Analogy", "The Soviet Union Analogy", "The Nixon-Red/China Analogy", "The Reykjavik Analogy" and "The North Korea Analogy" are analogies that government officials and analysts have used them to express their arguments about the current situation of "Iran's nuclear issue" and state their reasons for agreeing or disagreeing with the nuclear negotiations and through this, they have tried to justify their policies and persuade public opinion.

Political hikmah is an Iranian-Islamic concept and although at times it has been taken as synonymous with political philosophy, it is different from both political philosophy and political thought. The present article aims to explain political hikmah in ancient Iran. This is done in three stages. First, the meaning of hikmah and political hikmah is dealt with. Then, it is briefly discussed that hikmah and political hikmah originate from ancient Iran. Finally, some principles of political hikmah are examined. Ancient Iranians tried to rely on these principles in a macro intellectual and philosophical system in order to assign governmental positions to those who deserved them, direct the government toward justice and prevent rulers from committing injustice. These principles were as follows: dividing the universe into the world and heaven, the theory of philosopher-ruler, divine charisma, imperial splendor, and rejection of the theory of dominion. Some of the discussions in this article draw on Suhrawardi, the great philosopher and founder of the philosophical school of illumination, as he has presented this philosophy appropriately and his own philosophical school is based on the hikmah of ancient Iran. Keywords: hikmah, political hikmah, ancient Iran, Suhrawardi

This article applies a method of narrative analysis to investigate the discursive contestation over the ‘Iran nuclear deal’ in American and England media. In fact, the goal of this review is to recognize narrative elements constituting the deal as a US foreign policy success or failure. The article argues that foreign policy successes and failures are socially constructed through narratives and suggests how narrative analysis as a discourse analytical method can be employed to trace discursive contests about such constructions. Based on insights from literary studies and narratology, it shows that stories of failures and successes follow similar structures but different contents and include a number of key elements, including a particular setting; a negative/positive characterization of individual and collective decision-makers; and an emplotment of success or failure through the attribution of credit/blame and responsibility. The article foregrounds the importance of how stories are told as an explanation for the dominance or marginality of narratives in political discourse.

The purpose of the present research is to investigate the historical, cultural, symbolic, social and economic capitals of the clerical class up to the Islamic revolution and compare it with the period of the Islamic rule formation by clerics using Pierre Bourdieu's theory. In this regard, the following question has been posed: What changes have occurred in the capital of clergy in various social fields (based on Bourdieu's school of thought) after the Islamic Revolution? To answer this question, various clerical capitals from Safavid period to the victory of the Islamic Revolution have been investigated. Traditionally, the functions of this class, such as education, training, judging, legitimizing governments, and holding ceremonies and religious rituals were informal and non-governmental, and based on the duties and obligations of clerics. The reason for the influence and legitimacy of their words among the masses as well as their economic revenues is also because of these same functions. From the constitutional period, and especially during the Pahlavi dynasty, their capitals were under threat. The efforts of the clergy to restore their lost capital were actualized with the victory of the Islamic Revolution. But taking over the power, significant changes occurred in the function of these capitals, most notably the tendency of the clergy shifted from cultural capital to economic capital, which poses potential threats to this class. The present study intends to investigate the changes occurred in the capital of the clergy after taking power through critical and pathological approaches, presenting suggestions and strategies in this direction.
