Most historians of philosophy have developed history of political philosophy from the perspective of reason and related discussions, ignoring the place of imagination in political philosophy. The roots of such neglect can be traced in the thoughts of founding philosophers in Ancient Greece. In the Greek philosophy, imagination was relegated a low status in the hierarchy of human powers, and such conception was transferred to the Islamic philosophy through Aristotle's translated works. Muslim philosophers, however, resorted to imagination for explaining revelation and other spiritual phenomena from the beginning, since they had found out that such phenomena could not be properly explained with a rationalist approach. As the founder of philosophy in the Islamic period, Farabi attempted, especially in his Thoughts of the Dwellers of Utopia, to link imagination with his political philosophy discussions by developing it. This endeavor resulted in opening a path for the entry of imagination to political philosophy. Farabi's project was important because it focused on those aspects of political life that the Greeks failed to notice, as a number of new research attests to the importance of Farabi's emphasis on the status of imagination in}, keywords = {Farabi,Imagination,Islamic political philosophy,Prophecy}, title_fa = {مقام تخیل در فلسفۀ سیاسیِ اسلامی ـ ایرانی: مورد فارابی}, abstract_fa = {نوشتار حاضر درصدد بررسی مقام و جایگاه تخیل در فلسفۀ سیاسی اسلامی با تأکید بر مهم‌ترین فیلسوف سیاسی جهان اسلام ابونصر فارابی است. عمدۀ مورخان فلسفه، تاریخ فلسفۀ سیاسی را از منظر عقل و مباحث وابسته به آن طرح نموده‌اند و نسبت به جایگاه تخیل در فلسفۀ سیاسی غافل بوده‌اند. سرچشمۀ این بی‌توجهی به جایگاه تخیل را باید در اندیشه‌های بنیانگذاران فلسفه در یونان باستان جستجو کرد. در فلسفۀ یونانی، تخیل در مرتبه نازلی از سلسله‌مراتب قوای نفس قرار می‌گرفت و این تلقی از مجرای ترجمۀ آثار ارسطو به فلسفه اسلامی منتقل شد. فلاسفۀ اسلامی اما برای تبیین وحی و دیگر پدیده‌های معنوی از همان آغاز به تخیل متوسل شدند زیرا دریافتند نمی‌توان این پدیده‌ها را با رویکرد خردگرایانه به درستی توضیح داد. فارابی که مؤسس فلسفه در دورۀ اسلامی بود به‌ویژه در کتاب «اندیشه‌های اهل مدینۀ فاضله» کوشید با توسعه جایگاه تخیل، آن را با مباحث فلسفۀ سیاسی خویش پیوند دهد. نتیجۀ این تلاش فارابی گشودن راهی برای ورود تخیل به فلسفۀ سیاسی بود. اهمیت طرح فارابی بدین جهت است که بر جنبه‌هایی از حیات سیاسی انگشت نهاد که یونانیان از آن غافل بودند. برخی پژوهش‌های جدید اهمیت تأکید فارابی بر مقام تخیل در سیاست را تأیید کرده‌اند.}, keywords_fa = {فلسفۀ سیاسی اسلامی,فارابی,نبوت,خیال}, url = {http://www.ipsajournal.ir/article_40.html}, eprint = {http://www.ipsajournal.ir/article_40_b203e3a2b30a67cb35b86ee2ba4a027c.pdf} }
