There seems to be a relationship between the unitary state system and national unity. The favorable characteristic of the unitary state system regarding the national unity and solidarity is reinforced when the country is nearly uniform from the cultural and human point of view. This research is intended to study the relationship between the unitary state system and national unity in Iran. Descriptive-analytic method has been used in this research, and data has been gathered through designing questionnaires. The research population is consisted of 70 researchers and experts in the fields of political geography, political science, political sociology as well as government officials. The findings of this study indicate that notwithstanding the advantages of the unitary state system, excessive centralization in the unitary state system weakens the national unity. سیستم سیاسی بسیط، بر واحد بودن و عدم تقسیم قدرت سیاسی در عرصه جغرافیایی کشورها اشاره دارد. به نظر می‌رسد بین نظام سیاسی بسیط و همبستگی ملی رابطه‌ای وجود داشته باشد. ویژگی مطلوب نظام سیاسی بسیط در جهت وحدت و همبستگی ملی، زمانی آشکار می‌شود که کشور به لحاظ انسانی و فرهنگی تقریباً یکدست باشد. این پژوهش به بررسی رابطة سیستم سیاسی بسیط با همبستگی ملی در کشور ایران پرداخته است. روش تحقیق این پژوهش، توصیفی ـ تحلیلی و ابزار گردآوری اطلاعات، پرسشنامه است. جامعه آماری تحقیق، پژوهشگران و متخصصان جغرافیای سیاسی، علوم سیاسی، جامعه‌شناسی سیاسی، مدیریت دولتی است. تعداد نمونه آماری 70 نفر از متخصصان مزبور است. نتیجة تحقیق مزبور نشان می‌دهد، جدا از فوایدی که برای سیستم سیاسی بسیط وجود دارد، تمرکز افراطی و شدید در سیستم سیاسی بسیط، همبستگی ملی را تضعیف می‌کند http://www.ipsajournal.ir/article_107_a97da629b098b75c294dffdc3e463904.pdf
