We emphasizes on essential qualities in the Iranian political thought that throughout a long historical period, from establishment of contents of ancient Persian thinking to today, has had an impact on our political culture. If we can consider correctly the characteristics of Ismaili’s Imam (or Fatimid Caliph), as portrayed by Nasir Khusraw, we would diagnose some fundamental affinities between them and descriptions of the Ideal King in the ancient Iranian political thought. By surveying of essential concerns of Nasir Khusraw in both of historical-social and intellectual-dogmatic sides through detailed study of his works, we can mark out the continuity of a distinct approach towards nature of political relations and especially of the sovereign’s characteristics without which the history of political thought in Iran is not understandable. در این مقاله کوشش می‌شود تا با طرح مقایسه‌ای میان خصوصیات و ویژگی‌های امام در حکمت الهی اسماعیلی، آن‌گونه که ناصرخسرو روایت‌گر آن است، و ویژگی‌های شاه آرمانی در حکمت ایران باستان، به‌نوعی بر یکی از ویژگی‌های بنیادین اندیشه سیاسی ایرانی تمرکز شود که در طول یک دوره تاریخی طولانی از شکل‌گیری مضامین حکمت ایران باستان، تا همین امروز، هم فرهنگ سیاسی ما را متأثر ساخته است و هم نحوه نگاه متفکران ما را به سیاست و عرصه سیاست‌ورزی. ویژگی‌هایی که ناصرخسرو برای امام اسماعیلی (یا همان خلیفه فاطمی) برمی‌شمرد، چنانچه به‌دقت مورد بررسی قرار گیرد، مشابهت‌هایی بنیادین با اوصافی دارد که در حکمت ایران باستان برای پادشاه قائل می‌شده‌اند. بررسی دغدغه‌های اساسی ناصرخسرو چه به‌لحاظ تاریخی و اجتماعی و چه از حیث فکری و عقیدتی که با مطالعه دقیق کل آثارش حاصل می‌گردد، می‌تواند ما را در تشخیص تداومِ نگرشی به عرصه مناسبات سیاسی و به‌ویژه اوصاف حاکم سیاسی رهنمون گردد، که تاریخ تفکر سیاسی در ایران بدون آن، به دشواری قابل‌فهم خواهد بود.
