Abstract
Nowadays, Iran has encountered a deep transformation in the insight and practice of the youngest generation, the so-called Z generation, which has been reflected in the socio-political tensions in the recent decade. Such transformation prioritizes rereading the younger generation's identity, behavior, and demands. To review the relationship between the Z generation and the tensions, the present paper addresses which context has motivated them to attempt political action and what effects it would have. The paper hypothesizes that generational transformation, driven by various social-cultural-psychological factors, has opened up a new way for the Z generation and led them to different political activism. Nevertheless, the effects are tied to how the regime encounters it. In this vein, the paper uses Karl Mannheim`s theory of the “generation gap’ and Anthony Giddens`s conception of ‘life politics’ as the combinative theoretical framework. The paper will end by proposing some solutions to interact with the Z generation and engage them with Iranian society's problems. library-based data is conducted in a descriptive-analytical way.
