Abstract
In the past decades, research on the concept of the Shah in Iran has mainly relied on classical texts and has ignored the role of social factors and what we call social imagination. By highlighting concepts such as social imagination and imagination and collective memory, this article tries to look at the factors that give legitimacy to the concept of royalty in Iran from a new angle that is mainly based on the theories of narrative and the role of imagination in politics. The author is trying to investigate how concepts such as the holy king took place in the social imagination of Iranians and what tools have been used to perpetuate the concept of the king in the collective imagination of the Iranian people. In this article, tools such as portrait, telegraph, and the importance of the concept of millenarianism have been examined and an attempt has been made to answer the question of what factors over time have caused the continuation of the concept of the holy king until the Qajar era and until the moment of the constitutional revolution in Iran.
