Abstract
Abstract
This article adopts a critical realism framework and employs qualitative content analysis to investigate the political components within the poetry of Forough Farrokhzad. The selected works for analysis include "Poems of the Prisoner," "The Wall," "Rebellion," "Another Birth," and "Let's Believe in the Cold Season." It elucidates the significant impact of the political and social context on the creation and structuring of literary output. Through the critical realism perspective, it is evident that Forough Farrokhzad is a reflection of her era, with her poems intrinsically linked to the prevailing social and political milieu. This analytical lens reveals Forough Farrokhzad's dual approach to politics—both deconstructive and reconstructive. She actively contests existing political and social structures and endeavors to disrupt their foundations, thereby pursuing paths toward liberation and freedom. Forough Farrokhzad strives to foster awareness and aims to lay the groundwork for an alternative existence—one liberated from tyranny, patriarchy, and inequality.
