Abstract
Political science, as a discipline, is a plural and diverse science, as politics itself is. Indigenization has been a central concern in all affairs including modern science as well as political science, since the Islamic revolution In Iran, but in recent years, it has apparently increased. In this paper, we evaluate the strict sense of Indigenization in political science and its applications. Indigenization at least in political science may carry three meanings: 1. increasing the educational debates akin to Iranian governance and society. 2. Making political researches applicable in Iran. 3. Changing the nature and essence of political science. Findings show that most educational issues as well as research studies in political science related to Indigenization have been realized and are being applied. Substantial transformation in political science is unnecessary and invalid due to its personalization, isolation of Iranian political knowledge from the world political science, and Iran’s academic failure in this regard, and losing the critical characteristics of this discipline.
