Presenting a model of the impact of digital media on citizens' perception of clean elections in Iran

Abstract
Citizens' perception of clean elections is one of the important and influential factors on the process of democracy and policy-making in a country, so ensuring the implementation of clean elections can help to maintain and strengthen the legitimacy of the political system, and by increasing public trust in the political system, Improve citizenship rights in society. In this regard, it seems that one of the factors that can affect citizens' perception of clean elections is digital media. In this research, using the 7th wave of WVS data for Iran, it was tried to determine the direct and indirect effects of these media through mediating cultural variables of secular values and liberation values, concepts derived from Inglehart's theories. is, to be tested. The results show that, firstly, digital media did not directly have a significant effect on citizens' perception of clean elections. Secondly, on the other hand, the results indicate that digital media, by creating cultural changes and strengthening secular values and liberation, had a negative impact on citizens' perception of the possibility of clean elections in the country.
