About the Journal

The Iranian Political Science Association is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary and non-profit organization. Its scholarly organ, the Research Letter of Political Science, is a scientific research journal founded in 2005 to advance the scholarly development of the Association’s members, improve the quality of specialized human resources, and strengthen education and research across the broad field of political science.

Drawing on professional responsibility and academic expertise, the Editorial Board has welcomed submissions grounded in “originality,” “innovation and knowledge production,” “the advancement of political knowledge, particularly indigenous knowledge and insight,” and “a problem-solving approach to the issues of Iran,” and it remains committed to these principles.

Through years of sustained effort and the steadfast commitment of its editors and staff to the journal’s scholarly mission, the Research Letter of Political Science has had the honor of presenting more than 500 articles with an acceptable impact factor to the national academic community, in keeping with the highest scholarly standards and the principles of professional ethics.

Similarity Check

To prevent plagiarism, the journal uses the Sinaweb Hamyab similarity-checking system. In addition, authors may use the Hamtajoo and Samim Noor systems to prepare and submit a similarity report to the journal.

  • The similarity report must be the original PDF obtained directly from the similarity-checking system.
  • The similarity rate of the manuscript must be below 5%.
  • All submissions are checked with similarity-detection software before entering peer review. If misconduct is found, a report will be sent to the authors as well as to their university or institution, and the case will be pursued through the appropriate legal authorities.
  • The similarity report link and percentage are published in the electronic and print versions of the journal.

Acceptance Criteria

To produce specialized knowledge in political science, the journal accepts and publishes articles that meet the following criteria:

  1. The article is derived from original research and contributes new knowledge.

  4. Articles derived from master’s theses or doctoral dissertations may be published provided the supervisor’s name appears alongside the author’s.
  5. The article demonstrates originality and innovation.
  6. The article addresses issues concerning Iran.

Note: The journal only considers manuscripts that address issues concerning Iran. The journal is also unable to review submissions from authors who already have a manuscript under review or awaiting publication; please bear this in mind when submitting.
